AD announced it has completed the merger with Torbsa Limited, a leading building supplies buying group in Canada, effective July 1, 2022.

Held every four years, the Schaeffler Kolloquium is a worldwide customer showcase. It kicks off in Bühl, Germany, where the Automotive Technologies division is headquartered, and will be followed in the course of the year by sister events in Detroit and San Jose (United States), Changsha (China), and Yokohama (Japan).

Continental acquires family-owned belting manufacturer WCCO Belting headquartered in Wahpeton, N.D. With this acquisition, the technology company complements its conveyor belting customer portfolio and strengthens its Conveying Solutions business in the agricultural industry.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical disputes, raw materials shortages and trade issues that have rocked global economies and supply chains, a majority of U.S.-based companies are planning to relocate production closer to home. 

Surveying 1,610 executives in the U.S. and Europe, ABB found that 70% of U.S. businesses are planning changes in their operations, with 37% planning to bring production back home and 33% looking to nearshore and shift their operations to a closer location. 

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will invest approximately 2.2 billion Indian rupees, or 3.1 billion yen, in its subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. to establish a new factory in India. Expected to start operations in December 2023, the new factory will manufacture inverters and other factory automation (FA) control system products, expanding the company’s capabilities to meet the growing demand in India.
