Forest City Gear Attends AGMA Annual Meeting in Florida
Three members of Forest City Gear’s board of directors—President Kika Young, Mindy Young, and Appy Mikel—attended the 2023 AGMA/ABMA annual meeting in March. The meeting, hosted by the American Gear Manufacturers Association and the American Bearing Manufacturing Association, was held at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
“The annual meeting is an excellent resource for FCG,” said Young. “We can talk directly with suppliers, customers, and competitors all in one place. The cross-pollination of ideas, group problem solving, and team approach to learning new things from technical concepts to business best practices is truly invaluable.”
The meeting’s agenda included multiple networking lunches and dinners, presentations on leadership and the economy’s effect on the gear & bearing manufacturing industries, and a reception at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.
This year’s meeting adds to FCG’s long-standing history with AGMA. “I have been attending the Annual Meeting since I was a young girl and many of the folks there truly feel like family,” said Kika. “In what other capacity or what other forum could I develop friendships and partnerships with folks from India, from Australia, from Germany?”
