Schaeffler's Eric Steinbecher Elected to MEMA Board of Directors

Global automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has announced that Eric Steinbecher, president, Automotive Aftermarket Americas, has been unanimously elected to the board of directors of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) for 2020. Steinbecher’s appointment to MEMA’s board is expected to give Schaeffler a key role in helping to advance the interests of the North American automotive supplier industry.

Steinbecher is responsible for Schaeffler’s automotive replacement parts business marketed under the company’s LuK, INA, FAG, and RUVILLE product brands throughout North and South America. “For over 115 years, MEMA has been the voice of North American vehicle parts manufacturers, who are transforming mobility through innovation and technology while leading greater environmental improvements through sustainability,” said Steinbecher. “Considering the myriad challenges and opportunities facing our industry during this time of extraordinary transformation, I am honored to join the MEMA board of directors and focus my energies on helping to serve the automotive supplier community.”

Currently also a member of the board of governors of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) – MEMA’s light vehicle aftermarket division – Steinbecher has consistently demonstrated his commitment to giving a strong voice to aftermarket suppliers. With his extensive expertise in business development and global strategy, combined with a passion for promoting growth and development in the automotive supplier industry, Steinbecher will be equally dedicated to proving himself as a valuable addition to MEMA’s board of directors.
