Webinar Replay - Cycloidal Reducers for Precision Motion Control
DieQua
Cycloidal speed reducer technology reduces the speed of a motor’s input shaft by a predetermined ratio, matched to the application and the type of equipment used. These high-precision devices deliver relatively high reduction ratios, even for sizes as small as 50 mm in diameter. Speed reducers are essential for precise motion control in sophisticated systems such as robotics, military/defense equipment, and satellite antennas.
Cycloidal (planocentric) gearboxes rely on eccentric motion to achieve speed reduction. This motion is part of the process that converts input rotation into circular output rotation, thereby reducing speed. Cycloidal technology provides greater accuracy and functionality compared to traditional planetary and cam indexing devices, which use flexible cylinders that stretch to mesh with the internal spline gears. Flex spline reducers, when compared to cycloidal reducers, often lack the torque density (or the ability to tolerate torque shock) that is needed to deliver ultra-low or zero backlash during operation.
What you will learn from this webinar:
- Develop an understanding of the features and functionality of miniature cycloidal reducers.
- Solidify Mechanical capacities and functionality of miniature cycloidal reducers.
- Understand the integration and interface of miniature cycloidal reducers in a variety of applications.
