Heidenhain Corporation announces its participation in the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS), taking place from September 25-28th, 2023, at the Toronto Congress Centre, North, in Etobicoke, Ontario.
This year’s WEFTEC technical exhibition and conference will see Sulzer presenting several innovations in pumping, equipment control, filtration and aeration technology for the water and wastewater sectors. Exhibiting at Booth 3625 in the South Hall of McCormick Place in Chicago, IL., Sulzer’s water experts will be available from October 2-4 to discuss new advancements in energy efficiency, reliability and sustainability.
To date, nearly 400,000 city and intercity buses worldwide have been equipped with DIWA automatic transmissions. Passengers appreciate the comfortable and quiet ride, made possible by the stepless starting and braking functions. For operators, lower fuel consumption and consequently lower emissions – as well as low maintenance costs – are important aspects that have led them to use DIWA technology for many years now.
ABB will be featuring its high-efficiency NEMA motors solutions at Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia on September 25 – 28 in Houston. Attendees are invited to visit Booth #2835 to learn from experts how ABB’s innovative products and services provide essential solutions for energy saving, facility comfort, productivity and more. ABB’s Global Segment Manager Todd Huston and Account Manager Kirk Franz will be available at the booth to discuss the products and the product benefits.
A worldwide manufacturer of many types of plastic has manufacturing facilities around the world, including one in the southeast that makes PVC stretch film. Imagine the film used to wrap meat at your local neighborhood grocery store, or that you might use to keep leftovers fresh for later in the week. Although the plant is designed for precision and automation, sometimes mechanical components derail those plans and require operator interaction to correct the components shortcomings. The clutch-brake on a turret winding system was not precise, which not only required operator interaction but also caused downtime. Replacing the dry clutch brakes with Force Control Oil Shear clutch brakes eliminated downtime, increased accuracy and repeatability, and slashed operator involvement – all while increasing throughout.
Designed for larger cameras, tracking devices, telescopes, optics, and other devices, four new, high resolution, three axis gimbal mounts have been released by OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.). This new series of Three Axis Gimbal Mounts are 588 mm wide by 463 mm high, and handle loads up to 10 kg. The AU400-AER (Azimuth, Elevation, and Roll) Series of Three Axis Gimbal Mounts feature high precision 180:1 worm gear driven “V” groove rotary stages. Each axis is capable of 360 degrees of continuous rotation in clockwise and counterclockwise directions. The position is held economically when the motor current is removed as worm gears cannot be back driven. The Roll Stage has a precision pattern of threaded holes for mounting tooling, cameras, lasers, etc., and a through hole for cables and optics. Devices up to 395 mm wide can be mounted on the rotary stage.
PBC Linear (Pacific Bearing Company), a global leader in linear motion solutions, is pleased to announce that it will demonstrate deeper CNC integration for its Applied Cobotics Cobot Feeder at FABTECH 2023, in the Universal Robots (UR) Booth #B17063 in Chicago, September 11-14.
Automation specialist B&R is using this year's PackExpo exhibition in Las Vegas to feature open solutions with Codian robot mechanics, now integrated and rebranded within B&R. The Codian portfolio of delta configurations, including class-leading hygienic models, is open to any control platform and can be incorporated into any machine configuration. B&R's Machine-Centric Robotics solution combines Codian mechanics and B&R controls to offer machine builders and manufacturers single-source robotics and automation for precise synchronization and ease of engineering – ideal when implementing highly flexible packaging solutions.
Conveying parcel delivery with no system downtime is accomplished with speed and accuracy using Miki Pulley CSZ Clutches. Conveyors continuously operate via servomotor power by way of a V-belt. The system automatically switches on/off as programmed when engaged by the CSZ Clutches.
ZF has developed an electric motor which does not require magnets. In contrast to the magnet-free concepts of so-called separately excited synchronous motors (SESM) already available today, ZF’s I2SM (In-Rotor Inductive-Excited Synchronous Motor) transmits the energy for the magnetic field via an inductive exciter inside the rotor shaft. This makes the motor uniquely compact with maximum power and torque density.
