In recognition of its environmental leadership and comprehensive disclosure in the area of climate change, Siemens has been included by the CDP on its annual Climate Change A List, the highest possible performance ranking. CDP is a leading organization evaluating corporate action on climate strategies. The non-profit assessed more than 21,000 companies on the basis of data reported in its 2023 climate change questionnaire. Siemens is one of the few companies to have received an “A” rating.
“I’m delighted with the result for earning a place on CDP's A List, the ‘gold standard’ for corporate climate and environmental leadership, especially given the rating’s continuously increasing ambition level,” stated Judith Wiese, member of the managing board of Siemens AG and chief people and sustainability officer. “Our strategy is paying off: just as we continue to help customers accelerate their digital and sustainability transformations through our products and solutions, we are also continuously driving the transformation in our own company,” she added.
Aligned with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), CDP scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions toward a net-zero, sustainable and resilient economy. In 2023, more than 740 financial institutions with over US$136 trillion in assets asked companies to disclose data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities via CDP’s platform.
