This places SICK among the top 1 percent of more than 130,000 companies worldwide that have been evaluated in the past 12 months. EcoVadis is a leading rating provider in the field of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and focusses on transparent and independent review and evaluation of the sustainability management of participating companies.
The globally recognized provider of sustainability ratings, EcoVadis, has awarded the Voith Group the silver medal again this year after 2022. This puts Voith among the top 15 percent of all companies evaluated worldwide. For the rating, EcoVadis examined a total of 130,000 companies from 180 countries and 220 industrial sectors in the four main areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
NSK Ltd. has been collaborating with Chitose Group, a group of leading biotechnology companies in the global bioeconomy to undertake business creation activities focused on biomass recycling. This spring, the two companies have achieved a certain level of success, including the sale of a compost production plant developed by both companies, and having paved the way for commercialization, they have decided to strengthen their cooperation for future expansion of this business and co-creation of new businesses.
Continental's CONTI NXT Multi V-belt from the ContiTech group shows it will also be possible to power auxiliary units in cars using renewable raw materials and recycled materials. CONTI NXT Multi V-belt will use tension cords made from recycled PET bottles, a textile cover layer made from organic fibers as well as rubber certified according to the mass balance standard and recycled carbon black. Overall, the belt is made of almost two-thirds of more sustainable materials compared to conventional V-ribbed belts. The CONTI NXT will be available in the spring of 2025, in addition to the conventional Multi V-belts of the Continental brand – initially in 25 different types for the most common repair needs.

ABB and CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, have identified significant energy-saving potential through a strategic research partnership focused on the cooling and ventilation system at one of the world’s leading laboratories for particle physics institutes, located in Geneva, Switzerland. The study included energy efficiency audits which have helped to identify a savings potential of 17.4 percent across a fleet of 800 motors.
