OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) has introduced new Dual-axis Yaw and Pitch Stages. The YP100-45-01 and YP100-45-02 Dual-axis Yaw and Pitch Stages feature a Yaw axis capable of rotation in either direction and an integrated Pitch axis with a travel of +/- 45 degrees. The YP100-45-01 (stepper motor driven, as pictured) and the YP100-45-02 (brushless servo motor driven) are ideal for the precise measurement of angles or the curvature of an object, and for use with coordinate measuring machines.
The Yaw axis has a maximum speed of 14 degrees per second with a stepper motor and 45 degrees per second with a servo motor, and has a resolution of 0.001 degrees equal to 3.6 arc sec when the resolution of the micro-step is 10. The positional accuracy is 0.05 degrees, and repeatability is +/-0.01 degrees. The yaw axis is equipped with a HOME switch to signal the motion controller to reach the Home position.
The Pitch stage has an 80 mm x 80 mm table with a precision pattern of threaded holes for mounting tooling and fixtures, a rotation center height of 50 mm, a resolution of 0.001 degrees equal to 3.6 arc-sec when the resolution of the micro-step is 10. The positional accuracy is 0.05 degrees and repeatability is +/-0.01 degrees. The pitch axis is equipped with end of travel limit switches to signal the motion controller to stop the motion at each end.
The knobs of the stepper motors can be replaced with an optional optical encoder for precision position verification. The YP100-45-02 features servo motors and optical encoders for very precise closed loop operation and faster travel speeds. Each axis has a calibrated indicator to display the angle of yaw and pitch axes. Each of these Dual-axis Yaw and Pitch Stages can be ordered plug-and-play with a fully compatible multi-axis motion controller from OES.
