C&U Names Strutt Canadian Regional Sales Manager
March 20, 2013
C&U Americas, the North American subsidiary of The C&U Group, recently appointed David Strutt as its new regional manager in Canada. The announcement was made by Bill Childers, president C&U Americas, who noted that Strutt comes to C&U Americas with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the Canadian industrial and power transmission business. His 15 years of sales management experience in the Canadian market will go a long way in helping us to continue to meet our growth goals in the NAFTA region.
Strutt will be based out of Toronto and is responsible for creating C&U Americas’ infrastructure in Canada while managing all of the company’s operations in the region, including sales, customer service, warehousing, and administration. In addition to pursuing automotive aftermarket and OEM business, Strutt will also help establish Industrial Distributors across Canada to help carry the C&U Bearings brand into the Canadian industrial OEM and aftermarket business.
Prior to joining C&U Americas, Strutt had been manager of the BPT division for Ontario Belting & PT since 2009. He went to the BPT division after serving at Kinecor LP, now known as Wajax. At Kinecor, Strutt helped set up the company’s proprietary import brand for OEM business and also managed its largest sales territory in GTA.
Strutt also handled technical sales and was a branch manager at BGS Bearings, his family’s successful, 32-year old business until 1998, at which time, it was acquired by Motion Industries (Canada) Inc. In one year, Strutt advanced to become the company’s regional sales manager.
Strutt holds a bachelor of arts from Messiah College, Grantham, PA. He lives in Milton, Ontario, and helps coach his three boys local youth baseball and hockey teams.
