STLE 2025 Tribology Frontiers Conference Opens Call for Papers

The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) — the technical society for individuals in the field of tribology and lubrication engineering — is hosting the 2025 STLE Tribology Frontiers Conference (TFC) on October 14-16 at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, IL.

The event—with the theme Pushing Boundaries in Tribology & Lubrication—will enable attendees to engage with world-renowned industry, academic and government researchers to learn more about the technical, environmental and social issues impacting tribology research in the 21st Century.

The event will feature keynote speakers, each presenting an outlook on a far-reaching topic at the forefront of tribology research; technical sessions featuring contributed 20-minute presentations from leading tribology researchers and institutions from around the world; invited “Spotlight” talks by principal investigators; and graduate, undergraduate and early career researcher poster competition.

The call for abstracts is now open. Click here to submit your presentation.

Abstracts are accepted in the following tracks:

  • Tribology Challenges in Non-Terrestrial Environments
  • AI and Developing Machine-Learning Databases
  • Experiments and Theory
  • Nanomaterials in Tribology
  • Sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment
  • Sensing Stresses by Mechanosensitive Molecules
  • Energy and Manufacturing
  • Food Tribology
  • Symposium on Tribochemistry: Shear-Induced Chemical Reactions at Sliding Interfaces

“The STLE Tribology Frontiers Conference is where the global tribology community comes together to push the boundaries of research and innovation,” said Rebecca Lintow, CAE, STLE executive director. “By fostering collaboration across disciplines, this conference drives new discoveries that impact industries worldwide, and we encourage researchers to share their latest work through presentations and the poster competition.”
