Parvalux proudly cut the ribbon on their new state-of-the-art facility, Parvalux House on Technology Road. This facility is set to redefine industry standards and environmental responsibility. The Grand Opening in December welcomed several VIPs and industry leaders cementing Parvalux’s position within the local community.
Parvalux House is the new home of Parvalux Electric Motors, part of the maxon group, and a leading manufacturer of electric motors and gearboxes. Moving from its previous longstanding sites at Wallisdown.
Vikki Slade (BCP Leader) said, “To have such a high-quality advanced manufacturing and engineering business in our local community with such long and illustrious heritage at the vanguard of industry and with such good environmental credentials is wonderful.”
In addition to Vikki Slade, guests included Jo Clements, Mayor of Poole; Stephen Phipson, CEO of MakeUK; Ian Girling, CEO of Dorset Chamber; and distinguished figures from the maxon group, Dr Karl-Walter Braun (chairman of the board of directors) and Eugen Elmiger (CEO), amongst others. Following the ribbon cutting by Dr Braun, officially opening the facility, guests were treated to a tour, providing a first-hand glimpse into the processes involved in creating gearboxes and electric motors from conception to completion.
Vikki Slade commented, “It was great to attend the grand opening of Parvalux House and learn more about the incredible range of items the company manufactures – I had never considered how train windscreen wipers are powered before!”
This was followed by speeches with insights provided by Doug Sheppard, Parvalux managing director, which highlighted the transformative journey they had been on and the company’s commitment to excellence. Further speeches were then given by Stephen Phipson, Eugen Elmiger, and Karl-Walter Braun.
Sheppard added: “This new factory represents the commitment the maxon group has towards the future of Parvalux.”
This state-of-the-art facility is also taking steps towards sustainability and boasts more than 1,500 solar panels, reducing CO2 emissions by a staggering 343,857 kilograms annually, earning an exceptional -5 A+ rating, which is five points better than carbon neutral, setting a benchmark for environmental consciousness and sustainability in the industry.
Phipson said, “I was delighted to see such a marvelous facility which will clearly bring huge benefits to operational processes and is at the cutting edge of energy efficiency in particular.”
He continued, “It’s also very refreshing to see the care taken to ensure that the working environment is as welcoming for staff as possible and the innovative measures Parvalux is implementing to aid this.”
The event concluded on a high note, with staff and guests receiving commemorative coins, a token of appreciation for their contributions and support in making Parvalux House a reality.
