In the first quarter of 2022, the WEG High Voltage Service team (HVService) based at WEG Portugal facilities, successfully completed the commissioning of two Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives system for low pressure (LP) centrifugal fuel gas compressors at a FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel at the Gulf of Mexico.
This supply included two WEG MVW3000 medium voltage variable frequency drives (6900V, 110А) and two MV Induction Motors MGF 450 (6900V 850 kW).
The WEG HVService team carried out the MV VFD system commissioning and final setup onsite which includes full inspection, tests, measurements and required adjustments to assure a proper operation of the compressors. These compressors efficiently control the pressure and transport gas to a station onshore.
WEG was glad to take part and contribute to such an important and innovative project in the oil and gas segment. This service reinforces the expertise and agility of the High Voltage Service Team, which has a trained and qualified team, capable of the most diverse field situations, using state-of-the-art equipment, bringing reliability and safety to customers.
