During his inaugural tour, Canadian Ambassador to Austria Troy Lulashnyk recently visited the B&R headquarters in Eggelsberg. With B&R CEO Joerg Theis he discussed the future of automation technology in Canada and learned about the company's latest innovations and vision for growth in the North American market.
With the CP150 compact controller, the wait for the electronics to start up again after the engine is shut down for a short time is completely eliminated. This saves time and increases productivity in everyday work. Operators can eliminate the wait and also decrease emissions with the CP150, reducing their environmental footprint. B&R uses the vehicle's battery for the standby function.
Automation specialist B&R is using this year's PackExpo exhibition in Las Vegas to feature open solutions with Codian robot mechanics, now integrated and rebranded within B&R. The Codian portfolio of delta configurations, including class-leading hygienic models, is open to any control platform and can be incorporated into any machine configuration. B&R's Machine-Centric Robotics solution combines Codian mechanics and B&R controls to offer machine builders and manufacturers single-source robotics and automation for precise synchronization and ease of engineering – ideal when implementing highly flexible packaging solutions.
ABB opened its new global innovation and training campus at the headquarters of B&R in Eggelsberg, Austria, its global center for machine and factory automation. The new campus will create up to 1,000 additional high-tech jobs and includes world-class research and development laboratories, as well as global training facilities for up to 4,000 people per year in collaboration with universities. ABB invested EUR 100 million in the expansion of the B&R headquarters.
