Philip Konowalczyk received his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering (design and development focus) at RWTH Aachen in 2011. The following year (2012) he was a student assistant for
the gear research group at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) RWTH, Aachen University. In 2013 he earned his Master Design and Develop degree (drive technology focus) while continuing his duties at Aachen. Konowalczyk continues in his role as research assistant in WZL's gear research group — focusing on tooth flank load capacity.
