Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Ophey studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on production engineering. Upon graduation in 2013 he became a scientific research assistant in the gear department of the Laboratory of Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL). Ophey’s research is dedicated to focusing on hard finishing of gears — especially generating gear grinding, and manufacturing-related properties.
