The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) will convene for the PTDA 2023 Industry Summit in Amelia Island, Fla. on October 19-21, 2023. This year’s program—themed “Discover”— will offer cross-channel networking, shared learning and collaborative experiences.

Salim Haffar, deputy general manager at I-MAK, was reelected as president of EUROTRANS in 2022. This is Haffar’s third term in this role. Deutsche Messe is reporting 4,000 exhibitors in 2023 and 130,000+ attendees searching for the latest developments in electrification, sustainability, and digital solutions. While one might wonder if the show will ever reach pre-pandemic levels again, it was obvious there’s still a very focused global manufacturing network looking to solve climate, energy, and automation challenges in the coming years.

This year, the Hermes Startup Award goes to the Netherlands. The young company MantiSpectra from Eindhoven was awarded the coveted Startup Award for its ChipSense product by the jury.

Three young and highly motivated women have made it to the finals. On Friday, April 21, 2023, one of them will be honored with the Young Engineering Award 2023 during the WomenPower Career Congress. The initiative is intended to boost motivation for women to take up a career in the STEM sector.
