Siemens Digital Industries Software and IBM recently announced they are expanding their long-term partnership by collaborating to develop a combined software solution integrating their respective offerings for systems engineering, service lifecycle management and asset management.
  

Mark Javurek, Process Engineer at Forest City Gear, was chosen to judge for the TE&E Regional High School Competition, organized by CEANCI, in Rockford, IL on April 21, 2023. Since 1987, CEANCI has provided career and technical programming to students from 14 schools in 9 school districts across the Northern Illinois region.

Bearing manufacturer NKE Austria GmbH is entering into a strategic partnership with Kugler Bimetal SA, a Swiss producer of bimetallic components and tribological surface finishes. The cooperation was announced at the Hannover Messe in April 2023. 

With the unique combination of a sensor system and kinematics working independently in six degrees of freedom, the Smart Flex Effector compensation module gives industrial robots a sense of touch similar to that of a human hand. It thus allows the automation of processes that were previously difficult to manage or could only be performed manually. The innovation was honored at Hannover Messe with the Hermes Award 2023, the most prestigious international industry prize. The Smart Flex Effector increases the range of applications for robots because it sensitively compensates for tolerances in real time. Users can thus automate joining process, complicated assembly movements or difficult handling tasks. The compensation module can also be retrofitted in existing robotic applications.

This year, the Hermes Startup Award goes to the Netherlands. The young company MantiSpectra from Eindhoven was awarded the coveted Startup Award for its ChipSense product by the jury.

Croix Gear & Machining, recognized as a leader in the custom manufacturing of loose gears, is excited to announce the installation of a Gleason Phoenix II 600HC Bevel Gear Cutting Machine. This new equipment, combined with software upgrades on existing Gleason Phoenix 280c bevel gear cutting machines, will expand capacity and precision capabilities for spiral, straight, hypoid, and Zerol bevel gears.
