The Turbomachinery and Pump Symposia (TPS) is the premier training and networking opportunity for professionals supporting petrochemical and related industries via their machinery expertise. TPS 2025 will be held September 16-18, 2025 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

Emerson has announced the new Series D update to the family of proven SolaHD industrial rack mount on-line uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs). The new SolaHD S4KD Series replaces the current S4KC Series, offering significant user interface improvements and other design upgrades to increase reliability and product availability. The S4KD is an on-line (double conversion) UPS, providing a zero-transfer time from external to internal power upon utility power failure to deliver a seamless flow of power for critical loads. The S4KD is available in 1000-3000 VA in 120 V and 3000 VA in 230 V configurations, each housed in a slim 2U form factor.

Sulzer Flow Equipment has been selected by TechnipFMC to collaborate in developing new subsea CO₂ pump solutions for new technologies. Petrobras’ revolutionary high-pressure separation technology, HISEP, enables the separation of CO₂-rich natural gas from oil at the seabed. The process has the potential to provide significant gains in energy efficiency and productivity to Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels while reducing costs and emissions.

MLC (formerly Mississippi Lime Company) has appointed Blake Dell as vice president for corporate development, strategy and UK operations. Part of the MLC executive leadership team, this is a new role created to escalate the company’s geographic and market expansion. 

Motion has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Allied Circuits, an electrical and automation firm. The transaction is expected to close later this month, subject to customary closing conditions.

Curtiss-Wright’s Actuation Division has announced that its new Exlar Tritex EVA electric valve actuator has achieved CSA Class 1, Division 2 (C1D2) Hazardous Location certification. It also outperformed American Oil & Gas producers’ expectations for rugged field test operations in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. The Tritex EVA answers the demand for an efficient, high-speed solution while meeting the Methane Emissions Reduction Program (MERP) and Quad-O zero-emissions regulations in the oil and gas industry.

Routine refurbishment of important rotating machinery is vital for continued, reliable operation but if the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) fails to deliver an optimum service, what other options are available? For one oil company in Nigeria, issues with a gas compressor following an overhaul led to the maintenance team looking for an alternative solution.
