Siemens is extending its Sinamics G120C-series of drives to include three new frame sizes for high power output ranges.  The new frame sizes cover the power output range from 22 to 132 kilowatts (kW), making the series available from 0.55 kW to 132 kW.  Standard features of the series include a compact design with optional filter, long cable lengths, full integration into the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal and simple control and commissioning.

Bosch Rexroth has opened a new customer innovation center near Austin, Texas. The facility will provide a unique technology development experience for Bosch Rexroth factory automation customers from multiple industry segments, including electric vehicle manufacturing, battery production, consumer packaged goods and semiconductor manufacturing. The new innovation center is the latest in a series of expansions and investments Bosch Rexroth is making in North America, including a new plant in Queretaro, Mexico, and an expansion of its operations in Charlotte, N.C.

At the beginning of this year, the automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler acquired Melior Motion GmbH, an innovative manufacturer of precision gearboxes for robotics and automation applications, among others. As of December 1, 2022, Melior Motion GmbH will operate under the name of Schaeffler Ultra Precision Drives GmbH. The aim of the acquisition is to continuously expand the Industrial division’s portfolio of precision gearboxes and to secure a strategically strong position in the dynamically growing market for industrial automation.

Micropsi Industries today announced that its artificial intelligence (AI)-based software MIRAI is now compatible with numerous robots produced by FANUC, a leading supplier of robotics and factory automation in Japan, and its U.S. subsidiary FANUC America. With MIRAI, FANUC customers can now add valuable hand-eye coordination to multiple FANUC industrial and collaborative robots (cobots) to handle difficult-to-automate functions such as cable plugging and assembly.
