Hannover Messe 2023 presents the ideal networking hub. This is where AI developers, software engineers get together with users to jointly develop industrial-grade AI products or processes. Whereas in the past, the focus was on use cases in which errors or anomalies were detected or prognostications were made, industry in 2023 is focusing on the optimization of processes and the use of AI methods for simulation, testing and product development.

Magnetic Sensor Systems (MSS) has released their E-05-125 Series of Tubular Low-Profile Electromagnets. This compact series of electromagnets measuring just 1.25 in. in diameter x 0.50 in. features 18 different windings to select from based on the duty cycle and holding force requirements of the application.

The Timken Company has acquired the assets of American Roller Bearing Company (ARB), a North Carolina-based manufacturer of industrial bearings. ARB's offerings join Timken's industry-leading portfolio of engineered bearing solutions. ARB, which boasts a large U.S. installed base and strong aftermarket business, generated sales of more than $30 million in 2022.

Heat is also generated in an e-motor, sometimes quite a bit. In demanding applications, the motor electronics cause the power to be throttled or even shut down completely. But there is another clever way to protect an electric motor from overheating without losing power: using a thermally conductive casting resin as a heat transfer medium. The principle can also be called a static solid cooling system.

Contact analysis can be used to calculate the transmission error and determine the profile modifications of a gear stage. In addition, a wide range of important gear-specific parameters can be calculated, such as tooth root stress, distribution of Hertzian pressure, oil film thickness, and many more.

Ruland recently expanded their range of quick clamping shaft collars with clamping lever to include bore sizes up to 3 inches or 80 mm. These shaft collars allow the user to install, remove, or reposition the collar without the use of tools. The user simply turns the lever to loosen and tighten the collar on the shaft. 

High energy costs, broken supply chains and rising raw material prices continue to pose new challenges to business. To remain competitive, companies need to take steps to increase their efficiency and contain energy costs, which in turn will lead to a reduction in their carbon footprint.
