The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) is proud to announce the promotion of three AGMA employees— Rebecca Brinkley, Mary Ellen Doran, and Leah Lewis, effective August 19, 2024.
“As AGMA continues to offer exceptional value and standards development leadership around the world as it relates to the power transmission industry, we couldn’t be more excited to have Rebecca, Mary Ellen, and Leah help lead the way,” said Matthew E. Croson, President, AGMA. “Their experience and passion will guide us into an exciting future.”
“Our AGMA staff is a varsity team that is dedicated to our members and the industry,” added Croson. “Rebecca, Mary Ellen, and Leah have demonstrated considerable work ethic and teamwork during their time at AGMA. We appreciate their member focus and look forward to a strong future and enhanced delivery of essential resources to our members.”
Rebecca Brinkley is now Senior Director, Membership Engagement; her previous role was Director, Membership Engagement & Communications. Rebecca Brinkley has been working at AGMA for seven years, four of which were in the marketing and communications department.
Brinkley is a trained writer with her B.A. in Journalism from UConn, who has written for many trade publications, newspapers and online media outlets to include ESPN, Global Woman, Hartford Courant, Seward Daily, Industry Week, Manufacturing.net, and many more. She is very passionate about connecting people in the power transmission industry to the solutions they need to succeed.
Mary Ellen Doran is now Vice President, Emerging Technology; her previous role was Director, Emerging Technology. Mary Ellen will also continue serving as Executive Director, AGMA Foundation. Mary Ellen Doran has worked for the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) for 14 years. Her early roles were in communications and web development, which took advantage of her graphic design degree.
Her natural curiosity for knowledge led her to become an avid reader of all things manufacturing. In 2017, she took a unique challenge of establishing an emerging technology program for the Association. Since that time, she has established a robust program for members that includes four committees focused in the areas of 3D printed metal, IIoT, electric vehicle technology and advances in robotics and automation. In June of 2021, she added the role of Executive Director, AGMA Foundation to her portfolio. She now works the dual roles moving the industry forward.
Leah Lewis, CMP, DES is now Senior Director, Events & Education; her previous role was Director, Meetings & Events. Leah is an award-winning event designer and strategist dedicated to accomplishing an organization’s mission through meaningful events. She has worked with a variety of associations and non-profit organizations in the information technology, legal, scientific, manufacturing, and medical fields.
As the Senior Director of Education and Events for AGMA, Leah oversees the Education and Events team which produces over 40 annual events and training opportunities to a global audience.
Leah enjoys giving back to the business events industry and currently serves as Treasurer of the PCMA Capital Chapter. Leah graduated from George Mason University with a BS in Tourism and Events Management and is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Digital Event Strategist (DES), and is on her journey to become Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM). She was awarded the PCMA Capital Chapter’s President’s Award in 2020 and the PCMA Global Professional Excellence Award for Outstanding Service to a Chapter or Region in 2023.
