Forest City Gear Hosts Gleason Gear School Students
September 25, 2023
Forest City Gear hosted a tour for students of the Gleason Gear School on September 20, 2023. For more than 70 years, Gleason Cutting Tools' school has led seminars in Rockford, IL on math, gear theory, and the required tooling, manufacture, and inspection of gears.
Forest City Gear’s President Kika Young led the tour with help from Estimating Engineer Carl Wedig, Customer Quality Engineer Jacob Hutmacher, CNC Machining Division Manager Mike Miller, and Secondary Machining Supervisor Mark Sweet.
“Ever since our founding, keeping an open-door policy has been one of our core values at Forest City Gear. We know that sharing our facility and our knowledge is best for our customers and the gear manufacturing industry as a whole,” said Young. “Hosting our peers through seminars like the Gleason Gear School is always an honor. We’re proud to play a part in educating engineers and machinists, and we value the lessons we learn from them, too.”
