The new decentralized inverter series DGM Modular from Bonfiglioli is dedicated for asynchronous and synchronous reluctance motor control. Thanks to its various features and options our high-level performance solution is perfect for packaging, logistics, material handling, food and beverage and pumps sectors. All sizes of the DGM are characterized by high performance and safety features.
The inverter series DGM is available in 4 different sizes, based on the power selected and on its configuration. The standard DGM works perfectly with asynchronous motors and is available as single-phase version with a power range between 0.37 kW and 1.1 kW (DGM1), and as three-phase version with a power range 0.55 kW - 22 kW (DGM3) while the DGM modular outperform in combination with reluctance motors with a power range of 0.55 kW – 30 kW. The power voltage range is wide in order to adapt to any type of mains: The single-phase version from 100 VAC to 230 VAC 50/60 Hz or from 140 VDC to 320 VDC, and the three-phase version from 200 VAC to 480 VAC 50/60 Hz or from 280 VDC to 680 VDC.
The DGM can be connected to all common bus systems such as Modbus, CANOpen, Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT and Sercos III and the DGM Modular works also with Ethernet/IP, therefore the decentralized inverters can be integrated into all automation architectures.
All the sizes of the DGM series have been designed to optimize the compactness and the heat dissipation process. The compact and sturdy housing made of die-cast aluminum ensures excellent impact and vibration resistance, the latter up to 5 g. The high degree of IP65 protection ensures dust and water spray resistance. The inverter can also be used outdoors as well as in aggressive environments characterized by the presence of ammonia or alkaline solutions, such as swimming pools. The new DGM are optimized to ensure passive ventilation cooling up to 7.5 Kilowatts. They are supplied with an EMC filter embedded in the inverter and can operate in a very wide temperature range from minus 25 degrees Celsius to up to plus 50 degrees Celsius without derating.
The DGM series can be supplied combined with a gearmotor or separately, for wall or on-board motor mounting. If the inverter is supplied along with the gearmotor, DGM are preconfigured in the Bonfiglioli’s factories where motor parameters are set-up and autotuning is performed. Based on their needs, users can change the settings via the MMI keypad available as an accessory, or with the VPlus Dec programming software. With the VPlus Dec, users can easily perform all configuration, troubleshooting and testing operations.
The standard DGM are equipped with an embedded PLC, whose functions can be used via the Soft PLC program (IEC 61131-3). The PLC program can be used to customize the inverter functions. Programming can be performed in FBD (Function Block Diagram), ST (Structured Text), IL (Instruction List), LD (Ladder Diagram) and SFC (Sequential Function Chart) mode. DGM Modular can be equipped with a main switch on board and its versatility and simplicity lower electrical wiring time and enable various features on request.
