AOG 2017 gathered delegates and exhibitors to showcase the latest developments in the energy industry. The event wass organized by the Argentine Oil and Gas Institute (IAPG), with around 20,000 attendees. Sulzer had a number of unique displays on its stand, including its MC High Pressure Stage Casing Pump, which is specialized to offer high performance when pumping salt water. This is especially useful in well pumping applications, where equalizing well pressure is paramount to smooth operations. Its modular hydraulics offer high efficiency across a range of operating modes. In addition, a cut out of a GE Ultra 841 severe duty motor was available for viewing; this 300 hp device is regarded as one of the most durable on the market, making it ideal for high-stress drive applications in the industry.
Furthermore, Sulzer displayed its high voltage (HV) coils, which are manufactured in-house. Sulzer HV coils are fully tested to provide proven performance, reliability and efficiency for motors and generators. Finally, Sulzer refurbished blades and a rotor pump were available highlighting its inherent capability to repair such components and devices on short lead times to minimize the impact of operational downtime.
