PTDA Reports Recovery in Second Half of 2016
May 18, 2016
Fourth quarter data released by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) shows power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) distributor sales growing at a slower rate, with sales up 9.4 percent versus 2014. Sales for 2016 are expected to continue to decelerate in early 2016 before recovering in the second half of the year.
The above forecast is just one of many valuable data points contained in PTDA's quarterly Sales History & Forecast Report (SHOR). Developed in conjunction with ITR Economics, PTDA's SHOR collects company sales data each quarter from PT/MC distributors and manufacturers and presents the aggregate results in customized reports. SHOR tracks total PT/MC sales for both distributors and manufacturers. It also tracks six specific product categories for manufacturers only including bearings, motors, controls, gearing, conveyors/conveyor materials handling equipment
and hydraulics/pneumatics.
In addition to a written analysis, data provided for these categories is represented in charts to visually track overall product movement as well as total sales movement. The analysis, provided by ITR economists to create forecasts of future industry sales three years out, highlights major economic trends identified during the forecast process that may impact the industry. This information is a critical component in studying the PT/MC industry to verify key elements of any company prospectus.SHOR is available for purchase on a quarterly basis at the website below.
