The shaft strength calculation method according to AGMA 6101-E08/6001-E08 is now available, and includes both a static and dynamic proof. In the static proof, which takes into account peak loads, the nominal power is multipiled with a load factor. This load factor is defined depending on the application case. The dynamic proof takes different notch factors into account and uses the shape modification hypothesis method (von Mises) to perform the evaluation. The material properties that can be used in these calculations are derived from the material core hardness, which can now be input in KISSsoft.
