Parker XFC Series Electric Cylinder Supports a Maximum Thrust Load Up to 80,000 lbs.
August 20, 2015
Parker’s Electromechanical Automation Division recently announced the release of the XFC Series electric cylinder. Parker’s latest addition to the electric cylinder family of products serves to further extend the performance range.
The secret of the XFC lies in the integrated roller screw technology, which utilizes planetary rollers in place of the ball bearings used in ball screw products. The advantage of planetary rollers is that they provide more contact surfaces between the thread of the screw and the internal threads of the roller nut. This equates to higher overall load capacities, higher speeds, and shock loading capabilities. Spanning six different frame sizes, the XFC can support a maximum thrust load of up to 80,000 lbs. This thrust capability, coupled with an all-steel frame based on standard metric hydraulic cylinder construction, provides a virtually seamless migration from hydraulic to full electrometrical motion and delivers a cleaner and more energy-efficient solution overall with increased levels of control.
