Miba Sinter USA, LLC, recently opened its new production facilities. The company, a subsidiary of the Austrian Miba group, produces high precision parts for the North American automotive industry: variable valve timing components, synchronizer hubs, high-strength gears, chain sprockets, belt pulleys and electronic power steering components. Sintering technology allows resource friendly production of these heavy-duty, dynamically stressed components.

The Miba Sinter USA LLC site in McConnelsville, Ohio started production in the first half of 2010. Currently a total of 121 employees work here. The extension will create 100 new jobs in the next three years and represents an investment of $8 million. The Sinter Site now covers 88,414 square feet. Miba aims to increase fuel efficiency and to reduce emissions with innovative, functional and high-precision manufactured components.

Since 2010 we invested in total 51 million as a commitment to the site in McConnelsville and its well trained employees. Key criteria such as logistic and energy supply as well as collaboration with persons in charge and participants are excellent," stated F. Peter Mitterbauer, CEO of Miba group.

The past years have shown that the site is located in a dynamic region. Miba is benefiting from industry-friendly policies which support companies willing to invest and create new jobs. The United States is setting the pace for modern industry growth at present with expected 2.8 percent in comparison to an anticipated average growth of 1.0 percent in industrialized countries in 2014 (according to IMF, International Monetary Fund).

In line with its 'local to local' strategy, Miba is determined to supply its customers in the U.S. and NAFTA with products meeting Miba’s globally uniform high-quality standards. Miba has already 600 employees at five production sites in the United States and generates 19 percent of its revenues in the NAFTA markets. The Sinter site is one of the largest industrial production places and one of the major employers in Morgan County around McConnelsville.
