Voith Turbo Offers Closed Loop Differential Pump
October 1, 2013
The CLDP (Closed Loop Differential Pump) servo drive is setting new standards in hydraulics: Unlike electromechanical shafts, this selfcontained linear drive offers a high level of overload protection and wearfree operation. Power and position control are simple and precise. In addition, the servo drive is compact and features easy system integration. The CLDP servo drive can be used for all direct linear motions, especially when dynamic response, reproducibility and reliability are needed. Enhanced productivity thanks to the speed of the drive and longer lifetime are attractive features for plant operators. The servo drive covers a power range of up to 500 kN and speeds of up to 1 m/s. The servo drive design is simple: The heart of the unit is an integrated servo pump. The motion of the motor is directly linked to the cylinder movement so that the rotational speed and direction of the servo motor determine the cylinder's speed and direction of motion. This makes implementing the most varied speed and travel profiles a simple matter. The self-contained compact drive operates in a closed circuit and is equipped only with electronic interfaces; there's no need for typical hydraulic components such as a power pack, valves, pipes, and hoses. The CLDP servo drive combines the benefits of electromechanical shaft drives with the benefits of hydraulics.
