The new developed In Line Filter (LEN) by Rexroth offers significantly improved performance. A new design, using the cyclone effect in the filter housing improves the dirt holding capacity substantially and stretches out service intervals. In the new developed filter head the medium will flow due to the cyclone effect in a tangentially path. This ensures a uniform flow around the filter element and drives heavy particles to the outside. This prevents the filter material from getting clogged too quickly. The particles collect in the groves of the likewise re-designed filter bowl, from where they can be easily removed.
A pressure spring in the filter fixes the filter element to the grooves in the filter bowl bottom. This protects the filter element against uncontrolled movements by flow and vibration. Thanks to the newly designed shape of the filter bowl bottom, the medium goes through the lobes and also flows under the filter element. This distributes the pressure evenly and effectively prevents an overburdening of the filter under varying operating conditions.
The differential pressure contamination indicator measures the degree of pollution of the filter element. Based on the condition of the filter, a maintenance indicator on top of the housing indicates when the filter needs to be changed and when it reaches critical operating condition. This lowers maintenance costs and increases operational safety. Filter elements are not being changed unnecessarily in accordance with fixed maintenance intervals even if they still function well. In addition, the new 110 LEN filter series simplifies the replacement of the filter bowl. A pressure spring automatically lifts the filter element off the centering pivot in the housing. The filter element's 6-layer filter material is highly effective in its cleaning performance while minimizing pressure loss.
Combining highest functionality with attractive design, the new filter series by Rexroth has won the iF Product Design Award 2011. This award has been recognized around the globe as a label for excellent design. For this year's award, the jury chose winners in 16 categories from 2,756 entries.
