Motoman Robotics is pleased to announce Erik Nieves, technology director, joined the 2012 Advisory Council for the RoboBusiness Leadership Summit and the new Robotics Business Review premium content online information resource. Nieves is technology director at Motoman Robotics, a division of Yaskawa America, Inc, and is responsible for strategic planning of the corporate technology roadmap with special focus on robots for emerging applications. During his nearly 20-year tenure at Motoman Robotics, Nieves has held a variety of leadership positions in the United States and abroad. He is an active member of the Robotics Industries Association (RIA), where he serves on standards development committees and on the "Ask the Experts" forum. Nieves has published many articles on advances in robot technology, including multiple manipulator control, teleoperation, vision-guidance and robotic metrology. Nieves holds a B.S. degree in mathematical physics from Southwestern Adventist University (1990).
