Cicoil Offers Silicone Cables for Wind Applications
March 16, 2012
Cicoil's Highly Flexible Silicone Cables are designed for continuous motion and harsh weather conditions. Suitable in windmill turbine applications, these UV resistant cables are an alternative to PVC and Thermoplastic Rubber jacketed cables that do not provide reliability in severe environment conditions. Cicoil's exclusive crystal-clear silicone encapsulation is tear-resistant, needs no external armor or conduit for protection, and will not deform or wear during a lifetime of more than 10 million cycles, even under tight bending radius and constant flexing conditions. Cicoil's unique silicone extruded cables are unaffected when exposed to extreme temperatures (-65 to +260 degrees C), ice, snow, salt water, acid rain, vibration, sunlight, ozone, humidity, mechanical abuse and most chemicals. For applications that require abrasion and adhesion resistance, Cicoil offers anti-friction coating options by request. Cicoil's proprietary silicone extrusion process allows multiple conductors to be placed in a flat cable, precisely controlling the spacing of the wires, the jacket thickness and the overall cable shape. The flat construction allows for stacking multiple cables where space is at a premium. This unique silicone is "self-healing" from small punctures and cable jacket damage can easily be repaired in the field. Standard "off the shelf" single conductor, multi-conductor and hybrid servo cables are available from stock and custom designs incorporating shielded wires or signal pairs, and Cicoil's patented Strip Mountfastening strip are available with minimum lead times. Cicoil's windmill turbine cables are UL Recognized, CE Conforming, RoHS Compliant, flame retardant (UL 94 V-0) and are manufactured in an automated, climate controlled environment.
