Werner Gropp has been tasked with overseeing the marketing department at B&R. Gropp brings experience from the American conglomerate Emerson Electric, where he recently took part in a "Leadership Program" geared solely to the needs of industry. For over a decade, he was head of the marketing team at the Emerson Network Power division for indoor and outdoor racks and solutions (previously Knürr AG), based in the southern German town of Arnstorf. This division's primary strategic focus was on providing the necessary infrastructure for large-scale electronic data processing centers.
Gropp brings to B&R his extensive knowledge in the area of industrial marketing. Over the course of his professional career, he has been distinguished for a number of outstanding achievements, including frequent nominations for the "German Prize for Business Communication". He has a degree in economics from the University of Regensburg as well as an International Executive MBA, and frequently shares his valuable expertise as a visiting professor at several universities and as an appointed auditor for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in both Munich and Upper Bavaria.
Gropp is from southern Bavaria, on the German-Austrian border, and is married with two adult children. In his free time, he enjoys many outdoor activities, in particular challenging himself with long mountain bike tours and half-marathon runs, which help provide the energy and stamina needed to tackle his latest professional challenge.
At B&R, Gropp is responsible for all global marketing activities, and coordinates the areas of "Marketing Services" and "Marketing Communications". His goal is to strengthen B&R's market position among the top rank of global automation solution providers. He intends to focus on expanding within the relevant market segments of control technology, motion control and visualization. "This is an exciting and very promising assignment in an extremely attractive technology company with enormous potential for growth," concludes Gropp.
