Baldor Introduces Steel-Housed Roller Bearings
December 7, 2010
Baldor Electric Company recently introduced the Dodge Steel-Housed S-2000 HD spherical roller bearing. The new bearing features an economical set screw shaft mount with a cast steel housing specifically designed for heavy-duty applications. S-2000 HD bearings are available in pillow block and flange configurations. The Steel-Housed S-2000 HD bearing is designed with a high capacity, double row spherical bearing element that provides excellent misalignment tolerance. The bearing may be ordered in either expansion or non-expansion configurations, though it is readily field convertible by changing the position of a snap ring. The sealed inserts can be quickly replaced on-site, saving valuable time and effort, compared to competitor's bearings that need to be rebuilt. The bearing is protected by an exclusive sealing system that includes a patented nitrile multiple lip-seal that resists heat and chemical breakdown, as well as corrosion resistant flingers that block contamination. An optional metallic labyrinth seal is available for high speed applications. A variety of end caps are offered for additional protection from contaminants. The Dodge Steel-Housed Bearing from Baldor is suitable for markets like mining, forest products and aggregates as well as many other tough, heavy-duty applications.
