Two new products were released by Bodine Electric Company: the WX gearhead and a three-wire-reversible 34R frame AC induction motor.
The WX is a high-torque gearhead designed to last longer and perform to higher standards than other gearheads in its size range. They drive applications like conveyor systems, packaging equipment, metering devices and commercial appliances.
From the outside, the WX looks like Bodine's older W models, but it has been completely redesigned inside. With new steel helical gears and synthetic lubricant, the WX provides 50 percent more torque than the earlier generation of gearmotors from Bodine. The steel gearing is designed to AGMA 9 standards or higher for quiet operation. The lubricant contributes to longer life and allows the unvented gearmotors to operate over a wider temperature range. The gear ratios range from 4:1 to 312:1.
The 12 available stock models are configurable to a three-hole mounting patter using a bolt-on adaptor plate. It is Bodine's first gearhead to be paired with the three-wire reversible 34R, single phase, 1/7 HP (107 watts) motor winding. The three-wire configuration makes connection and reversing the motors direction simpler. This winding can operate at 50 Hz with a different value run capacitor. For custom configurations, a 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, one-phase, three-wire reversible winding is also available.
