Local Indiana state and federal officials along with Brevini Group president Renato Brevini and others gathered for a topping off ceremony for the 130,000 square-foot facility being constructed in Muncie.
The event is the first since the Italian gearbox manufacturer announced plans to move its U.S. headquarters and build the factory in Muncie, according to the Muncie Star Press. The celebration marked the completion of most of the building's exterior.
Starting in 2010, the plant is scheduled to begin producing gearboxes for wind turbines and eventually employ 450 people.
