Rexroth announces a new brochure, Drive & Control Technology for Wind Turbines, highlighting its industrial hydraulics technology developed specifically for the wind energy market, including dynamic rotor blade pitch adjustment systems, drive train brakes, yaw drive brakes, gearboxes and more. The 20-page full-color brochure is available for free download.
The brochure details the many technical requirements designers and engineers must consider in developing drive systems for wind turbines, such as operating environment and wind loads, durability, output efficiency, noise, size, weight and serviceability.
Rexroth's wind energy brochure highlights technology that addresses these factors, including electromechanical and electrohydraulic rotor blade pitch adjustment systems, yaw drives, yaw and drive train brakes for gentle and secure braking of the turbines, and multiple designs for different size gearboxes.
Rexroth produces gearboxes for windmills with power generation ranging from 2,000 kW or fewer, to large multi-megawatt turbines. The brochure covers Rexroth's manufacturing process for gears, including heat treatment, grinding, assembly, inspection, painting and shipment.
Rexroth's service for the wind industry is also highlighted, explaining the company's in-the-field support in more than 80 countries for everything from failure analysis to 24/7 repairs.
